Colorado Springs Photographer

The nervous laughter right before someone says I do. The way a toddler reaches for your face with both hands. The look between two people who forgot anyone else was in the room. The quiet that settles over a family when they finally stop trying to look perfect and just hold each other.

That's what I'm after. Not the pose. Not the smile you give a stranger. The real thing underneath all of it.

I picked up a camera over ten years ago and never put it down. Not because I love photography, though I do. Because I love people. I love the way connection looks when nobody is performing. I love the moment someone lets their guard down, and I'm there to hold it for them.

I'm Sandy. I live in Colorado Springs with my two kids, my partner John, a house full of thrifted furniture, too many plants, and three pets who all think the bed belongs to them. I'm a Leo, a reader, and the friend you call when you need someone to just listen.

I photograph the way things feel

You’re in the right place if you’re looking for…

a photographer who feels like a friend •

someone who sees the real moments •

a steady presence on your biggest day •

a hype woman who means it •

an artist who cares as much as your do •

This is what I think about every time I pick up my camera. This wild, precious, too-fast life and the people you're choosing to spend it with.

The way you hold them. The way they look at you. The way it all feels when you stop performing and just let it be what it is.

I want to hold that for you. So you never forget what it felt like to be right here, right now, with them.

The Rest of the Story

Thrifting is a sport in this house. Most of the art on my walls and furniture in my home was someone else's first, and there's something beautiful about giving things a second life. About finding beauty in what other people overlooked.

Long drives to mountain spaces I haven't been to yet are my favorite kind of therapy. The kind where your phone loses signal, and the road gets quiet. My car doubles as a hotel more often than you'd think, roadside rest stop showers included, and the sunrises always make it worth it. Live music lives in my chest. Plant medicine grounds me. Food, sweets, and cooking for the people I care about fill me up.

Mama to two, bonus mama to more, and the kind of person who gets on the ground with your kids during a session because playing is just better down there. A lover of the moon, of tattoos, of cottage core and vintage everything, and all the weird little things that make a person who they are.

Body positive. Social justice-minded. Fiercely committed to creating space where everyone belongs. Women, children, families, people of all colors, and the LGBTQ+ community will always have a home here. You matter here. Your story matters here. And you will always be welcomed, celebrated, and seen.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

It starts before your session ever happens. A planning call where we talk about what matters to you, what you're hoping to feel, and what you want to remember about this season of your life. By the time we meet in person, you already feel like you know me. And I already know the moments I'm looking for.

On your day, I'm calm. Steady. Paying attention to the things you might not even notice yourself. The way your hand finds theirs without thinking. The way your kid buries their face in your neck when they're feeling shy. The look that passes between you when something is funny and nobody else catches it.

You won't hear me ask you to say cheese. You won't feel like you're performing for a camera. You'll feel guided, gently, into moments that are already yours. I just help you slow down enough to be in them.

Working with me means being seen. Not directed. Not posed. Seen.
