Mesa Drive-In Family Photos in Pueblo, Colorado

We love drive-ins.

The kind where you pile blankets into the back of the car, let the kids wear pajamas even though you technically left the house, and pretend you didn’t sneak in your own candy… while still absolutely splurging on funnel cake fries (yes, those are a real thing and yes, they’re worth it).

Weeknight visits are the best.
Quiet. Uncluttered. Slow in the way summer evenings should be.

This little sunset session was a personal project with my kids, Emma and Ellis, running wild in the empty lot at the Mesa Drive‑In while the sun dipped low and the screens waited patiently for dusk. No agenda. No timeline. Just space to play before the movies started.

Watching them explore, climbing, laughing, chasing light, reminded me why I love photographing families the way I do. Not posed. Not rushed. Just present.

Why the Mesa Drive-In Is Perfect for a Family Session

And honestly? This location would be such a fun place for a family session.

Imagine arriving early, letting your kids roam while the sky turns gold, cuddling up together before the movie starts. It’s nostalgic and playful and a little unexpected, the kind of experience that feels like a memory while you’re still in it.

These are the sessions I’m always chasing: real moments, real connection, and places that already hold a story before we even arrive.

If you’re dreaming up something a little different, something that feels like you, I’m always down to make it happen.
