A Boho Mountain View Family Session in Colorado Springs

I’ve had the joy of spending time with this family three times now, and every single session begins with the same thought: there’s no way this can top the last one. And every time, I’m proven wrong.

I’ve watched little Miss Annie and her sister Edith grow, shift, and settle into themselves. Their personalities unfolding more clearly with each passing season. Being invited back again and again is something I never take lightly.

What It Means to Be Your Family Photographer

One of the things I love most about this work is getting to truly know the families I photograph. Not just their names, but their rhythms. Their connections. The way they move together.

When families trust me to return year after year, something deeper becomes possible. I’m no longer a stranger with a camera, I’m someone who understands the dynamic, the personalities, the quiet in-between moments. And that understanding changes everything about how their story is documented.

Getting to the Heart of Your “Why”

Before every session, I send my clients a questionnaire. It’s not about logistics, it’s about why.

Your why is the heart and soul of our time together. It shapes the feeling of the session and guides how I photograph your family, even if we’ve just met. Understanding what matters to you allows me to create images that feel warm, honest, and deeply personal.

When Connection Leads, Everything Else Follows

Getting to know you helps me create a gallery that actually reflects who your family is, not just what you look like. The love you share. The way you show up for one another. The story that’s unfolding right now, in this season.

These are some of my favorites from Mary Louisa’s family session. Images rooted in movement, connection, and the quiet magic that happens when families are simply allowed to be themselves.

If you’re looking for a photographer who will take the time to know you and your kids, who values relationship as much as the final images — I would love to help tell your story.
