Nathaniel Riley Opening for Oliver Hazard at the Fox
When my friend Nathaniel Riley opened for Oliver Hazard at the Fox Theater in Boulder, I knew I had to be there, not just as a concert photographer, but as someone who cares deeply about witnessing and honoring the moments that matter. This night was one of them. From the historic energy of the Fox to the quiet power of Nathaniel’s performance, it was an evening full of heart, presence, and soul.
Nathaniel’s new song Hands, born from a season of deep emotional struggle, created space for healing in that room. The stillness, the strength, the honesty, it was all there. I showed up to photograph not just the music, but the meaning behind it. This post is part reflection, part documentation, and all heart.
John Craigie at The Lariat: A Colorado Concert Experience
Join me as I take you behind the lens of a Colorado concert photographer capturing the magic of John Craigie’s performance at The Lariat in Buena Vista. This intimate venue was the perfect setting for John’s soulful storytelling, where his music resonated in ways that only live performances can. Through my lens, I share not only the energy of the night but also the journey that led to this unforgettable moment, from rafting on the Tuolumne River to a secret music performance in an old mining shaft.
As a photographer, I find inspiration in every corner of life, and John’s music has been a guiding force in my creative journey. This post celebrates how concert photography fuels my passion and keeps my creative cup full, while also offering insight into how live music and storytelling through photography are so deeply connected. If you’re passionate about music, adventure, and photography, come along for the ride and experience these moments through my eyes.

Branding Session with Holistic Therapist Near Denver, Colorado
Alice, a holistic therapist who works with clients in Colorado, Kansas, and California, reached out to me for a branding session to show her potential clients who she authentically is while they are trying to decide if they want to work with her. Alice wanted images that reflected her soul at its base to share on her website and social media. Branding sessions are perfect for these types of needs and Alice showed up in her fullest self and together, we made magic in the creek at Castlewood Canyon just outside of Denver, Colorado.
When booking her time with me, Alice mentioned that she wanted to be sure to include the elements in her images because they are important to her process as a holistic therapist. When I book with a new client, I love to schedule a video call with them to talk over their photography needs in detail and to ensure that I understand their vision and what they want to walk away from our time together. Together, we decided how she would represent each element: earth, air, water, fire, and, we made a plan. She brought crystals, palo santo, and sage with her and we used the creek and wind to pull the rest of the elements together.
Colorado Springs Climate School Strike at Palmer High School
Students from Palmer High School and others gathered in downtown Colorado Springs on Friday September 20th, 2019 to participate in a climate strike march. This march is just one of many marches happening across the country led by young people who want to change and bring voice to the environmental injustices happening on our earth.
COVID-19 Strength and Rainbows in Colorado Springs
Neighborhood rainbow hunts are something communities across the world are doing in order to spread love and hope for all that pass by. Yesterday, we rolled up our sleeves to spread joy and happiness. Our twins (I am a bonus mama to them, did you know that?), Emma and Jack painted their own versions of happiness with rainbows. Here is their love for you during this COVID-19 mess.
Street Photography in Oceanside, California
While traveling for photography work, I spent a quiet day alone exploring the shoreline and streets of Oceanside with my camera in hand. This personal street photography project captures reflective moments, coastal light, and the small connections that happen when you slow down and simply observe while traveling.
The Train That Gave Me Power | Circus Train in Colorado Springs
In 2015, shortly after moving to Colorado Springs, I encountered the Ringling Bros. circus train stopped beneath the Uintah Street bridge, a moment so surreal it demanded to be documented. This personal project became more than still-life photography; it marked a turning point, a reclaiming of power, and the beginning of a new journey forward.
Women’s March in Colorado Springs | January 21, 2017
On January 21, 2017, thousands gathered in Colorado Springs as part of the nationwide Women’s March. This post documents the day in full, a peaceful, powerful gathering rooted in solidarity, protest, and collective voice. Photographed in a raw, documentary style, these images are preserved as both a record of the moment and a reflection on what it meant to stand together.
Mama Ain’t Got No Green Thumb (Or So I Thought)
I’ve never been known for keeping plants alive, until this moment. This personal project documents a quiet afternoon in our first apartment in Colorado Springs, watching my son Ellis plant a small succulent and, unknowingly, plant the beginning of something bigger. A soft, ordinary season that eventually turned me into a full-fledged plant mama.
Mesa Drive-In Family Photos in Pueblo, Colorado
We love drive-in nights, blankets piled in the back of the car, sneaking in candy, and still splurging on funnel cake fries. This sunset visit to the Mesa Drive-In in Pueblo, Colorado was a personal project with my kids, Emma and Ellis, running free in the open lot before the movies began. Quiet, unhurried evenings like this are a reminder of why I love photographing families the way I do, playful, present, and rooted in real moments.
